Gaziev vs Teixeira: a Heavyweight Fight Built to End Early
Last time out at ABHA Arena, Shamil Gaziev lasted 82 seconds: Waldo Cortes-Acosta knocked him out in the first round last November. On November 21 he is back in that arena against Tallison Teixeira, a 26-year-old Brazilian known as Xicão. Gaziev, 36, was born in Khunzakh, Dagestan, and lives and trains in Bahrain.
Neither of them is built for the scorecards. Gaziev has 15 wins and 13 came early, ten by knockout and three by submission. Teixeira has nine wins, eight early. And every defeat between them has come by knockout — three for Gaziev, two for Teixeira, and the Brazilian's two, to Derrick Lewis and Sergei Pavlovich, both came in the first round inside 40 seconds.
Gaziev knocked out Kennedy Nzechukwu in 80 seconds in August; Teixeira outpointed Tai Tuivasa in Sydney and then ran into Pavlovich in May. Both of them finish, both of them can be finished: the final bell is the long shot here. UFC Fight Night Doha tickets.
